WebThe 29th international Gilbert and Sullivan Festival will take place in Buxton, Derbyshire from 29 July – 12 August 2024. WebThey were commissioned by Ian Smith, founder in 1994 of the Gilbert and Sullivan Festival in Buxton, Derbyshire, modelled after D’Oyly Carte stars who regularly played these roles. Since working with the D'Oyly Carte Company until 1982, Alistair Donkin developed a dual career as both performer and director.
